I have a HDA with the ip 10.0.0.10. I have just moved, and i am using mobile broadband. I have to use ip range 192.168.0.xx. I cannot use the HDA as DCPH server. The reason is that i have a laptop with a 3g modem. Then i am sharing the modem on my network. As far i i can find out, the laptop then HAS to be in control of DCHP.
How do i change ip on my HDA?
The emergency solution i have used until now, is to have my laptops connect to internet via wireless, with automatic DCHP with the ip range of 192.168.0.x, and via network cable to the same access point with static ip of 10.0.0.x, so i could access my hda and internet at the same time. Not an optimal solution, and my HDA has not accessed the internet this week.
Please help me to solve this, its driving me mad. I need access to my HDA, so my kids can watch movies.

Re: Changing ip adress
Hello,
You change the gateway/router IP via a script. As root user, do:
hda-change-gw 192.168.0.x
Set x to whatever your router uses, typically a 1. You will then need to restart everything. I am not sure if this will reset the IP address for your HDA, but it might.

Re: Changing ip adress
Looked promising after the command. Was told to restart everything on the network.
Now fedora wont start or is taking foreeeever to start. 2 attempt.
Edit: In started at last, but i cannot find the hda on the network.
What is the command to display the ip to confirm what it is? Think i found it. Trying with another adress.
Edit2: Set it to 192.168.0.150 cannot ping it from other machines. None of my pc`s can mount it. Cannot reach it via browsers like this: hda/setup?sub=disks&tab=storage
Could it be the network mask that is incorrect? How do i check it/set it?
What can i do?

Re: Changing ip adress
I have tested with another laptop, and set a static IP to 192.168.0.135, and 192.168.0.151. Both worked fine, connected to internet from the pc, and could ping to it from another laptop.
The HDA at 192.168.0.150 cannot connect to internet and i cannot ping it. Could it be the network mask? Anything else? Please dont tell me to reinstall.

Re: Changing ip adress, HELP its for the kids!
We cannot typically support changing the last byte of the IP of the HDA. The rest bigfoot65 told you how to change it.
It is recommended that you uninstall all the apps, then do the hda-change-gw.
Otherwise run the networking troubleshoot wizard.

I feel stupid now. I was using the command, not realising i was setting the gateway. Corrected it, but i cannot ping 192.168.0.1 from hda, or the hda.
