In preparation for the Amahi version of MediaTomb, I've installed MediaTomb on my desktop Linux machine to try it out.
However, my DLNA TV (Sony Bravia) can't see the MediaTomb server, even though it quite happily sees the Amahi DLNA server.
Why is this? The TV has an IP address and I can ping it from the desktop machine, so a network link is there. It just seems as though the MediaTomb (web/uPNP) server is not accessible from elsewhere on the network.
Is this likely to be an Amahi networking problem, or something local to the desktop machine?
Can't access media server across Amahi network
Re: Can't access media server across Amahi network
I've had lots of good luck running DLNA as my media server to my PS3.
Maybe just go with the DLNA server.
Otherwise, perhaps your still need to modify the MediaTomb configuration to work with your devices/network?
