I had everything set up and working, until I tried to set up auto login, which failed and wouldn't login at all so I re-installed everything and have had to also re-boot the modem and wireless router.

I have no trouble connecting to the internet through my macbook pro but now i can't connect to the internet on the hda

It looks like your hda is on a different subnet than your router (xxx.xxx.11.xxx vs xxx.xxx.1.xxx).
Changing the IP address of your hda to match the router might help.

yep, that's all it was... thanks for that - I knew it had to be something super simple that I was overlooking!
