make sure your logfiles are rotated frequently so a logfile won't hog your diskspace. You can set options to compress the rotated logfiles and rotate them daily/weekly etc.
your config file is located in /etc/logrotate.conf
"man logrotate" will give you all the info you need about logrotate and its features.
