I am trying to get the Amahi server running on a network with a separate IPCOP firewall. The install went well, and the DHCP works fine on the amahi server after turning off the service on IPCOP.
However, dnsmasq isn't running. I'm getting an "failed to create listening socket: address already in use error" message.
I've checked my fixed IP's (print servers, wifi router ) and arp -a doesn't seem to report problems.
As a result of this the only way I can get decent DNS lookups is put my ISP DNS servers into dhcpd.conf
Ideas?
dnsmasq problem
Re: dnsmasq problem
not following you entirely, but it looks like dnsmask is a dns and dhcp server.
it fails because your HDA already has a DNS (bind) and DHCP server that are integrated and make possible a lot of the Amahi mojo (like short URLs, dynamic DNS updates via DHCP, pxe booting, etc. etc. - see the FAQ on networking).
if you wanted to run your own, not the HDA ones, how come you did turn off the one in IPCOP?
