Hi.
i searched the forum but i didnt find the correct solution for me.
I want to setup my amahi server and use it completely wireless. This means, ETH0 has to be my
wireless LAN PCICard when the base Install and Config is done.

Switching over to PowerLine Adapters etc. is not an option.

Is there any way to get Amahi work wireless, without breaking it with Network Manager etc?
Can SSID / WLAN Passphrase be configured in the eth0 configfiles?

Are you using a laptop for your HDA?
Do you have a NIC card that has the eth0?
Have you considered using a bridge?

I idea for you is not a fix, but provide a work around. I remember reading the instructions, I just installed my HDA, and it saying that you most use the eth0 port to configure your HDA. So why fight this. Use a bridge or a adapter. Game consoles use this to get on a Wifi network. You could do the same here. This way you will be using eth0 (ethernet port 0). Using an access point or bridge would save you from a lot of file editing on your HDA. Note there is sometimes a performance hit when Bridging.

I also would like to know if a wireless only setup is possible. I'm making a server that dual boots windows XP for a spare desktop and the router is no where near the computer desk. The extra powerline adapters and wireless access points might seem like a good solution but they're not. I don't really want to spend $50-100+ if it can be done through software. If someone knows how to rename my connections or fool amahi into thinking wlan0 is eth0 I'd love to hear it. Thanks!
