Still having DNS woes

Postby wachuwamekil » Sun Feb 14, 2010 10:41 am

Hi all,

So after the fresh install of everything I am still having issues with DNS. From my amahi system I am not able to resolve URLS, if I use nslookup and specify a dns server it works. I have not worked with any Linux DNS servers before so i'm not really sure where to go. Let me know what you think.

I also did the network troubleshooter tool, and the information is avoidable here ------> http://paste.amahi.org/d6446238

Thanks,

Wachu

how about trying to change your DNS provider to your isp or google public dns?

Hey cpg, thanks for the reply.

It looks like the same thing for both my ISP dns servers, and google DNS servers, the google dns servers throw a different error though.

try with your router DNS, *if* it has DNS relaying.

NOW, do you have any active filtering, or firewall on the hda or router, or whatever?

No dice on the router dns.

How can i check for active filtering? I am running DD-WRTv.24., it is not something that I knowingly turned on I don't think.

this is very weird. i guess we'd have to debug it live via the irc channel. or something.

How did this ever get resolved?

We have a case of this that seems to be reproducible.

Did you ever figured out what was up?
