Why I can't open HDA icon in the Network places on HDA pc?

Postby juzzie » Sat Jan 16, 2010 10:57 am

I recently installed Amahi Server onto Fedora 12 without a hitch. I used recommended setup with partition and
network settings (by disabling my router's DCHP). I verified that all my computers on the LAN can access HDA and
Internet. My HDA was assigned static IP 192.168.1.10. I verified that all other computers has its own IP address (starting from 192.168.1.100 issued by HDA). My router is at 192.168.1.254 address. From my Windows clients I can see and browse (read/write) all shares on HDA. But….

The only way I can access shares on my HDA is thru Filesystem tab in the Computer icon (on the Desktop) by browsing to /var/hda folder. If I try to go thru Network folder (located in PLACES in the Computer menu) I can see all my home PC’s and I can access all my Windows machines. But if I click on the HDA icon – I’m getting the error message “Unable to mount location”. Is this normal or did I miss something in Amahi and/or Fedora setup?
