unable to access apps via http://<app-name>.somename.nl

Postby cwg » Sat Jan 09, 2010 8:47 am

I have succesfully installed Fedora 12 and AMAHI on my very old PC-machine and am trying to get things working now.

I tried to install WebVNC and Transmission (which completed succesfully, both). But i am not able to connect to those apps via http://transmission.

Added the "somename.nl" to the DNS list of my local (laptop and pc) NIC IP version4 interface. But that didnt solve the problem :-(

How to get things working properly?

I have turned off DHCP Server on my HDA, because my HDA is just in test-phase (not turned on all the day). So my Router is still doing the DHCP things. For the rest, all server-services are turned on at HDA.

I can connect the the (user) shares on my HDA via the network on vista and via win7. I can connect to http://hda and http://hda/setup. All work fine.

But accessing applications via a browser-url doenst work at all.

Looking forward to get things working on this new server. Interface is understandable, for me who never worked with linux.

Greets,
Carsten
