Lost network connectivity after yum update

Postby jarnold » Thu Apr 01, 2010 11:23 am

Hello,

Question that is perhaps specific to Fedora but I thought I would start here. Background: I installed Fedora 12 / Amahi following the online instructions. Everything worked as hoped. I had not performed any updates at this point. Had network connectivity and was able to install a few apps without any issues. I did have some problems with the installation of several applications. It was suggested that I run updates via YUM, which I did. There were a considerable number of updates which appeared to run just fine. When completed I did a reboot and that's where the trouble begins. During boot a FAIL comes up with my eth0. No connectivity. I try and enable eth0 via a Network configuration tool. eth0 is listed in the configuration tool as "Inactive". When I highlight the device the "Activate" button is grayed out - I'm not able to activate it. I'm guessing that something done during the YUM update munged up my network configuration but I'm not expert enough to know where to begin. Any ideas?

I've listed my CPU / MOBO specs below, should that be helpful. Thanks.
