DD-WRT Client bridge and Amahi
Hello, I have 2 Linksys WRT54G's Running DD-WRT v24. I have my main one set up as standard router, and the other as a client bridge in the living room with xbox and HDA connected. I am wanting my HDA to give out all DHCP's but I am not sure how to do this with the client bridge in place or if it is possible. My main router just has my Mac connected, and the client bridge router has my Xbox 360 and my HDA. Right now my router settings are all the same as before I installed the HDA. I have setup a static IP in Amahi for my 360 in order to get uShare to work. The only other problems I am having are DNS isn't working and my Mac sometimes doesn't see the HDA. My Windows 7 laptop see's the HDA fine as long as I connect to the IP address. Anyone got any useful info for me? Thanks
Re: DD-WRT Client bridge and Amahi
if it's truly a bridge, it should "just work".
is it wireless bridging? if so, is there a chance that it may be a bit unreliable, causing the other issues you experience?
otherwise try the networking troubleshooting steps and indicate where you get stuck at.

Re: DD-WRT Client bridge and Amahi
The bridge is wireless, meaning there is no cable connecting the 2 routers, but it isn't a "Wireless Bridge" which has the second router broadcasting a wireless signal. Do you think if I connected my HDA to the main router that I would still be able to us uShare to my xbox if it is connected to the bridged router? Or will anything that is connected to the bridged router not function properly? Last thing, which may be a question in the dd-wrt forums is, is there a way to turn off DHCP server on the routers without messing up the client bridge?
Re: DD-WRT Client bridge and Amahi
Hi,
I'm also trying to set up amahi running off a dd-wrt in wireless client mode.
jtupinsmoke, I think any other use of your wireless "bridge" should run smoothly as I've networked printers, media centers etc over mine without a problem. Amahi is the first instance I've run into share problems over my wireless client.
So far all i did to the routers is turn off dhcp in the cable router. the bridge is still intact, amahi box has internet and hda setup went smoothly (amahi is on wireless client router, other computers are on cable router). I am now setting up shares and having trouble connecting from my other computers. one is a mac mini connected to the cable router, the other a macbook wirelessly on the cable router. both are seen by the amahi box and are receiving dhcp from the amahi box. however, when connecting to the share folders in a finder window (connected as guest), the share folders are visible but upon clicking them i get message "error: could not find original." I haven't figured it out yet but it seems to be due to running dhcp server over ddwrt in wireless client mode because in system pref/network/tcp/ip settings, both macs show dns as "192.168.0.90, 192.168.0.90" and domain name "home.com." This seems weird to me that the dns (ip address of my amahi box) is repeated. Anyhow, I'm in the same boat and will post back if i figure it out.
