need help with webapp

hi, I installed OCS Inventory on my Amahi machine, but when I try to go to myhost/ocsreports, it redirects to the amahi control panel, ive tried creating a custom webapp but that didn't work either. OCSInventory installs under /usr/share/ocsinventory-reports/ocsreports/ Ive even tried creating a symbolic link from the custom webapp located in /var/hda/web-apps/ocsreports/html/ and linked it to the directory ocsinventory is installed in, but nogo. What do I need to do so I can access OCSInventory? Preferably as a web app, and have it show up on the home page?

What you are trying to do is a little complicated, especially if you are not an advanced Linux user. The guidance below does help a little with how to create a web app:

If you are looking for step by step instructions on how to make this work, you probably won't find any. Best thing I can say is if you can install it to the html directory stated in the link above, it should work. Otherwise things get a bit more difficulty. Need to ensure all the files are owned by apache:users as well.

Is it ok to resurrect this post?

I saw that OCS Inventory NG is an Alpha webapp but has not been updated for a year. I would like to try it in my network. I too have created the symbolic links in the /var/hda/web-apps/ocs-inventory/html directory but I am assuming that I need to make a .htaccess file to make the connection for Amahi. Has anyone had success with getting OCS Inventory NG working?

I want to use if for software deployment within GLPI. I have had problems with Fusioninventory and want to try another avenue.

I don't mind helping to figure out how to get it working. So how do I make the connection?

I have no idea. Until I look at the app, cannot offer much on how it's used or configuration steps needed. You can check the vendor's web site for assistance I suppose.
