It looks like Amahi updated itself?
I wanted to add another alias and it is no longer there...
Any new way to do this?

Lost Alias capablity ?
Re: Lost Alias capablity ?
A new alias? To what?
Having problems with connecting to the internet? Try the Network Troubleshooter.
Not sure what your Gateway IP? Head on over to the Find Your Gateway IP page to find out easily.

Re: Lost Alias capablity ?
ouch, good catch. we released this rather big new update recently and we're about to announce it after what it looks like a peaceful update. It looks like Amahi updated itself?

the intention was to only enable that when "advanced features" are enabled. however, it looks like the menu was lost altogether.
apologies. let us work on it ...

use of alias? here what i use it for...
I added the following aliases
router....
printerx...
mysql.... refers to mysql server
I know some might prefer to use static ip to work with but here is a use that the static ip won't do... except for router, most other aliases migth switch from one computer to another one...
like mysql might be computerA.home.com and once I update/upgrade the sql server and do not mess up the "old production" one, then I only change the ip of the alias to connect to computerB.home.com; that way if for some reason I want to undo the modification and go back to previous version/server, I only change alias again... no modifcation to the server/application...
aliases make maintenance easy...as with any decent network aliases are good network management...
Thank you for bringing this back to Amahi...

Re: Lost Alias capablity ?
totally agree with that way of doing network management. sound and smart strategy.
