Hello Everyone
I have a problem setting up Amahi correctly: I live in a student dorm with a WiFi Connection to the internet accessible for all students... I want to set up an Amahi Home Server for myself and my roomates. But i fail to set up my Server in order to use the WiFi as the Source for the Internet and the ethernet Port for File Sharing, etc. After setting up Amathi with wlan0, i saw, that all Students got their IP from the Amahi DHCP... And with Amahi on eth0, there is no connection to the internet
What i've tried is to share the internet connection from my PC over the Local Network and it worked just fine, but it the internet speed slows down a lot with that method. So long story, short therm:
Is there the possibility to use Amahi on the eth0 port, while fedora uses wlan0 for the internet connection? Or is there a better solution with a differnet network setup ( maybe buying a router? or using the amahi server as a router?)
Thank you for your reponses!
Amahi with two network connections
Re: Amahi with two network connections
Amahi has to be used with a wired connection, not wireless. It can distribute IP leases to wireless devices, but that is via the router. Amahi only assigns the addresses.
There is some info in the wiki about WLAN, but it is unsupported. I am unsure if it will work.
