update on MiniDLNA - works!

Postby cpg » Wed Dec 23, 2009 2:03 am

hi!

now that we're on fedora 12, i thought one of the first orders of business would be to look into minidlna.

i am SUPER HAPPY to report that it's working on my new amahi 5 hda (yes, only a couple of days old .. :) ), and not only it compiles, it's working great and i can stream 1080p matroska and mpeg content! my front end is this inexpensive WD TV Live device.

so next it's time to package it as an app and port it to amahi.

i would like to give it a unique name that it's memorable and and a nice logo!

any suggestions?

if you are following amahi on twitter, we already got a couple suggestions

CoryServer, AmahiVision, Amadna

any others?

it's hard to incorporate DLNA in the name and minidlna is not a great name. we want something different that means our port to amahi...

i am VERY excited about this app and would like to if you are interested in testing and debugging this app!

woohoo!

now for the name (& the logo)...
just from the top of my head:
- hdastream, amahistream, netstream
- amahichannel, hdachannel, homechannel
- dlc, amahidlc (digital living center - taken from dlna: digital living network alliance)
- dcs, amahidcs (digital content server)

the logo would very much depend (I think) on the name.
