Amahi "Rawhide"

Postby Lincee » Sat Oct 24, 2009 6:05 pm

This morning i had to reinstall my HTPC
I installed Fedora rawhide on it, because its the only distro that works with my intel based video chipset (namely the S-Video would fail on other distro's)
i then installed amahi, using the F11 repository, and guess what?

IT WORKS :D
i have a working F12 with Amahi running on top :D

so far i only have problems with DNS resolving
(i cant use http://hda/)
but this could be due to my mini-minimal-install.. i noticed amahi complaining about it during install.
so today im gonna do a regular install, and see if amahi works correctly.

other then this, everything works in amahi!
shares, users, apps..

I am about to buy exactly the same hardware (motherboard/cpu in your signature) for my coming Amahi-server. Is it only the S-Video that would fail if I install F10+amahi? I am going to run the machine headless, but would need basic VGA or something for installation. Do you happen to know if that will work, or do I have to wait for F11-amahi or F12-amahi to stabilize?

only S-Video fails,
you can work perfectly with amahi on this hardware.
but my machine also runs as a HTPC which needs the S-Vid.

now with F12 running well, i have Amahi AND XBMC and it all runs rather smoothly.
though i highly doubt the machine can perform much more then this
