We have disabled iptables rather than work out a tool like shorewall, yet ip6tables is running.
Is this because it is ASSuMEd that a firewall is properly protecting systems from IPv4 attacks, but not from IPv6 attacks?
I have IPv6RA available on the subnet where I have my Amahi servers, and with no changes they are getting IPv6 prefixes and have global addresses. Since I **DO** have proper IPv6 firewall policies (I have a Juniper SSG5 firewall), I have decided to disable IP6tables for now.
Is someone actively working on shorewall for Amahi? I suppose I could do it, but DNS will take a big chunk of time.
Why is IP6tables running?
