Amahi 7 beta 1 release!

Postby cpg » Fri May 24, 2013 4:51 am

Hello! We have released a new version of packaged to the Amahi 7 (Fedora 18) repo. This is Amahi 7 Beta 1!

New things: Added individual control of the DNS and DHCP servers (in the new dnsmasq server), some UI with bugfixes, bug fix where the configuration settings for hda-ctl in /etc/hda-ctl.conf were not being properly read upon start.

There is a question about the possibility of not using NetworkManager and falling back to old-style network settings. In some cases, these NM-based settings do not work.

One clarification, the plan is to release with Greyhole installed, but without UI, since this is something that will take a little to get right and we will add it later, as an app.

Please test this one hard and let's release this baby!

Is there an update to the installation process? methinks the wiki for the F18 install is out of date, no?

Should be the same process. I don't believe all the automated install pieces are working yet (web installer). The command line installer is still the default as far as I know.

here's a beta1 test fpaste. I'm running Fedora XFCE

http://paste.fedoraproject.org/14623/56825313

no errors during the install AFAIS

There's typos or misconfigured metrics in the dashboard that reads parition size usages...
several MB readings should be GB readings.

After clicking on any of the top 6 dashboard items (users, shares, disks, apps, etc), the subheadings don't stick... they just rever back to the 3 "details | servers \ themes"

what is the issue?

do you mean the submenu?

(if so, we have tweaked it in the latest code and should be better (though still hover-based) in the next beta)

I think the post above mentioned the disk values are displayed as MB but should be GB. That's way it appears to me anyway.
