I see a service amahi-installer listed via chkconfig --list
When I manage to see the shutdown messages, terminating this service at shutdown seems to always fail.
When I try:
service amahi-installer status
I get:
amahi-installer is dead but subsys locked
Should this be disabled as a service? Do we need a bug on this? And for how, should I just:
chkconfig amahi-installer off
????
What is the service amahi-installer and why is it still runn
Re: What is the service amahi-installer and why is it still
This is the service for the amahi install. Once installed, that is the status it resorts to. Not sure if it can be stopped or not, but it is no longer needed. Maybe remove the subsys and then stop the service.
I do know that some folks have had this occur before install and we have added a page to the wiki for it.
See http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Install ... leshooting part about installer is locked. We probably need to stop this after a successful install.

Re: What is the service amahi-installer and why is it still
I have done:
chkconfig amahi-installer off
on both Amahi servers I have running.

Re: What is the service amahi-installer and why is it still
Is the amahi-installer used for periodic updates pushed down to the hda? (I haven't checked the code)
Perhaps that is why it continues to hang around.
