I have 2 new Amahi servers (by new, I mean on F12 and Amahi 5).
My personal domain is htt-consult.com; I have had this since '95. The first server I set up, behind a NAT on network 192.168.128.0/28 (I am one of the RFC 1918 authors and contributor to CIDR) is named homebase.htt-consult.com in the Fedora install.
This install has a domain of home.htt
I have gotten things working; my main DNS server is running a slave zone for home.htt so all the rest of my systems (not on the 192.168.128.0/28 network) can access things.
Now I start my second install for system klovia.htt-consult.com at a public address. I should point out that I already have a klovia running on a different public address in a different subnet; this will be a swap-in replacement box.
For this system, the domain is htt-consult.com
Interesting. Why? This will actually cause me troubles accessing my other htt-consult.com systems, as I can't disable DNS on it (see but 681). I will have to alias all of those systems here...
But why the different domains? My old klovia built with Amahi 4 on F11 is running on domain home.htt.
Curious selections of domain
