I just found the recycle option you can put onto a share (vfs objects = recycle). I think this would be a great option to make as a checkbox. You could have .recycle accessible from the dashboard to reinstate a file/s or directory/s. Using something like PHP Navigator.
But reading the topics below, I don't know the best way to implement a recycle bin. If it would save every edit it could be like Apples time machine thing.

Having a recycling bin would be a great feature!

That sounds great. If you don't mind, please add this as a feature request at http://bugs.amahi.org. You can log in with your amahi.org credentials.

Submit it as a bug, then select Feature for type.
