SAMBA questions

Postby rgmhtt » Mon Oct 18, 2010 9:17 am

I have enabled PDC mode. Before I set up my first client I want:

Per user logon script (easy to set up in the config file as I recall).

User share mounted as H: /home/$user

Two admin shares:

C$ /home

D$ /var/files

Anyone have done any of these and recommend the 'best' method? If I go changing the smb.conf file, it will constantly get overwritten. I would have to change the script that creates it, what is the script name?

I suppose I could just try this out and connect a client, but....

Is the home directory being mounted as q: ?

And can the logon.bat be safely edited (ie it is not overwritten at boot or upgrade), and if I edit it from the server (using say gedit), do I then run unix2dos?
