If you're looking for an online backup solution for your HDA because CrashPlan for Home will no longer be supported, I looked into alternatives and chose IDrive. The price was reasonable and IDrive can back up from and restore to multiple operating systems, including Linux, so I can back up all of our home PCs. It uses perl scripts (https://www.idrive.com/readme) for Linux backups and has decent support in its forums (https://forum.idrive.com/forum.php?id=7).
I'm still backing up files from our HDA server and it's working pretty well. I can see the backed up files when I log into my IDrive account and it appears easy to restore them. So, at least for me, I have an alternative to CrashPlan for our HDA server.
CrashPlan for Home going away
Re: CrashPlan for Home going away
I too have switched over to idrive. It's command line only on linux but seems to work pretty well. I'm using it to backup the HDA, Windows clients and a Mac.
