*SOLVED* Crashplan Install Issue

Postby danewood » Thu Mar 06, 2014 8:14 pm

So following the Wiki for installing Crashplan, step one on setting up the HDA it wants you to modify /usr/local/crashplan/conf/my.service.xml however that file does not exist to modify. I first installed the app on my HDA after I purchased it. But I can not get any farther becuase I can't edit the config file since it doe snot exist. Did it get moved or something and the wiki never updated?

What version of Amahi are you using? If Amahi 7, it should be there.

For Ubuntu, you will need to file a bug report at https://bugs.amahi.org. We will prioritize it with other current issues.

EDIT: For Amahi 7, check to ensure CrashPlan is running. As root user, do:

Code: Select all

systemctl status crashplan
Also check /var/log/amahi-app-installer.log for errors.

BTW, for Amahi 7 this app is not LIVE. We are testing it and if you are willing to help, that would be great.

Amahi 7.1 on Fedora 19. There is no /usr/local/crashplan directory. Upon further poking around using locate I found the install script. So I manualy ran the install and it aborted.

Code: Select all

The current version of Java (1.8) is incompatible with CrashPlan. Please install one of the following version of the Sun JRE or OpenJDK: 1.5 1.6 1.7
I checked and I do have versions 1.5-1.8 installed. I do not recall however how to change the default version to 1.7 so I can get Crashplan to install.

My bad I misread the output it said I had 1.8 installed and 1.5-1.8 is available. SO I installed JAva 1.7 and that resolved it

So something to keep in mind I used the Fedora iwth AMahi 7.1 iso to install from so it looks like it installs 1.8 not 1.7.

The app does not require you install java on the HDA. The install script automatically downloads it for you and installs. Please add a copy of the CrashPlan specific lines from /var/log/amahi-app-installer.log file to bug report https://bugs.amahi.org/issues/1291.

If you had to do more than change the one file, something did not complete correctly on the install. I have tested this numerous times and it always installs the Java. The my.service.xml is present too.

Think it's resolved. Added Java 1.7 as dependency.
