SOLVED:Amahi Time Machine doesn't show in Time Machine setup

Postby diggityDawg » Sun Dec 22, 2013 1:51 pm

I've purchased and installed Amahi Time Machine, and I believe it appears in the Finder, although it's named using the admin username and what I think is the motherboard model number, but when I enable Time Machine in preferences it doesn't show as an available Time Machine target. In the Airport Utility it doesn't show either. I have a brand new MacBook Pro with Mavericks OS. If I check the installer log, I see this:

Code: Select all

======= app install begin @ Sun Dec 22 12:25:09 -0800 2013 ========== Installing app id oxlimkd9bi under /var/hda/platform/html ENV=production sudo: no tty present and no askpass program specified Sorry, try again. sudo: no tty present and no askpass program specified Sorry, try again. sudo: no tty present and no askpass program specified Sorry, try again. sudo: 3 incorrect password attempts App: Amahi Time Machine installed ======= app install end @ Sun Dec 22 12:25:18 -0800 2013 ==========
I checked the wiki article here, but there is no path '/var/hda/files/amahi-time-machine' in my AppleVolumes.default file, so I can't replace it with my actual path...By the way, the path to my Time Machine share is /var/hda/lz/TimeMachine, which I created in the Shares settings of the hda admin (see attached screenshot).

Not sure what to do at this point...?

Thanks for your help!
Eddie

What Amahi version are you using, Fedora 19 or Ubuntu? Also recommend you please file a bug in the issue tracker.
https://bugs/amahi.org

This allows us to track and prioritize our workload. We need to capture these in a manage location for future issues.

I'm using the Ubuntu 12.04 version of Amahi. I am happy to enter a support ticket, but the URL you provided cannot be correct... I tried looking on Amahi.org and could not find a support ticket area?

I'm sorry, I must be losing my mind, but I cannot find a link anywhere on that bugs site to actually report a bug. I see options to sort the list of bugs, view a filtered list of bugs, view the calendar, but no link or button to submit a new bug. I've gone to every page and none have this ability... Perhaps it's hidden? At any rate, if you have any advice for this issue, I would sure appreciate your help! :-)

Thanks!

After you log in, select the link in the left corner that says "Projects". From there you should see an "apps" option show up in the list on the left side.

Hope that helps.

Ok, so I posted this issue in the bugs.amahi.com site 18 days ago. I got some advice and things to try, none of which worked. It's now been 11 days since I've had a reply from anyone, so I'm bringing this back to the forums in the hopes that I can get this resolved soon... Can anyone help me figure this out? I'd like to be able to use the Amahi Time Machine app that I paid for...

Thanks!

Sorry it is taking a while, but we have quite a workload. It is in the queue.

There may be someone here who can help. If not, we hope to get to it soon.

I understand, which is why I waited a couple weeks to post back here.
