SOLVED: Greyhole - "going" command

Postby achmetinternet » Thu Sep 05, 2013 2:31 am

Hi,

I have used the --going command on two mounted partitions on my HDA & at the end greyhole even removed them from the greyhole.conf file.

However, when I look at the contents of these drives/ partitions via shell command "mc" they still got the gh folder and it seems that there is still some content in there.

I would have expected these folders to be empty and now I am worried that not all data got copied over to other drives...

How can I make sure that all data was moved?

Regards,
Torsten

I am not sure if that is the correct behavior. You might consider trying some other Greyhole options to ensure it picked up all files/links.

Also suggest you post in the Greyhole topic area if you still do not have resolution. The author monitors that channel typically.

What would these steps be? If they will not solve it I can post in the other forum or link this post...or can you move it?

I would say try fix symlinks and find orphaned files options. If that does not work, might check Greyhole web site to see if the going command moves files or just replicates them to another location. I don't recall the last time I did this if it emptied the folder.

I spoke to the developer in IRC and he said that the files would only be copied not moved. So this explains it all :)

That's kind of what I was thinking, but was not postive.
