Hi All, I'm not sure whether this should be in the newbie section or here, but it is backup related.
I have happily & successfully set up Amahi, and Crashplan. Crashplan is workign fine backing up several PC's on my LAN.
I would like to backup those backups to an external USB drive.
But, when I connect it I get "Unable to mount <volumename>" Not Authorized.
It is a 1 tb WD drive formatted as NTFS.
What am I missing here?
cannot connect an external USB drive
Re: cannot connect an external USB drive
You are probably missing the drivers for NTFS. They are not installed by default in Fedora.
See the wiki page on adding a second hard drive as it will indicate the what dependencies are needed.

Re: cannot connect an external USB drive
Thanks Bigfoot,
alas I had already done that as I added 2x1.5Tb drives.
It must be a permission thing I guess.

Re: cannot connect an external USB drive
Could be a permission issue. I have also had to reboot on occasion when connecting a USB drive. Not sure what caused the problem, but the restart fixed it for me.
