Hello,
I just installed ubuntu/amahi on my pc. Everything works as it should. (OS installed on IDE harddisk) Only the 2 sata harddisks (raid) are greyed out in the dashboard/storage. (sdb and sdc)
How do i enabled them so i can use them as shares?

Follow the wiki guidance:
http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Adding_ ... o_your_HDA
These drives should not have been connected when you installed the OS and Amahi. If they were, might be hard to follow this guidance.
I presume you used the install guidance at http://docs.amahi.org.

Re: Ubuntu server/amahi Sata raid
I installed server and Amahi acording to the guide. Unfortunately the sata-hd's where already in the pc when i installed ubuntu/amahiFollow the wiki guidance:

First command in the instructions you adviced (ls -1 /dev/disk/by-id/ | egrep -v "part|scsi") doesn't give me any response (empty prompt: >)
What now?
Re: Ubuntu server/amahi Sata raid
You need to check the /etc/fstab and if those drives are there, comment them out and reboot. Must follow the wiki guidance to add drives to Amahi. Sorry, that is the only option.

fstab has only an uuid (no sda/sdb or sdc remark)You need to check the /etc/fstab and if those drives are there, comment them out and reboot. Must follow the wiki guidance to add drives to Amahi. Sorry, that is the only option.
an ext4 and a swap.
I presume this is all on the ide hd (sda)
? (perhaps i should start again? clean install without sata hd's)
Re: Ubuntu server/amahi Sata raid
Sounds about right. I would agree that a fresh install would be best, ensuring the 2 additional drives are not connected until OS and Amahi have been installed.
That works best and causes the least amount of work overall.

Re: Ubuntu server/amahi Sata raid
thnx,, evrything works now..
[edit, i made a new thread on this. Newbies-thread]
I managed to add the sata hd's to the etc/fstab and i see them in the dashboard. (i followed the guide "how to add a second hd") I was just wondering if these harddisk will be used when the first ide hd is full (80Gb)? Or do i have to make a share for these sata hd's? How?
ps: i don't see a "storage pool" in the HDA / Dash
ps: perhaps you can give me a link to read up on this matter?

Follow this guidance.

Once done, you select Shares and you will see the Storage Pool option to add the drives. See this link for more info.

Re: Ubuntu server/amahi Sata raid
Things are still not 100% (i think). I am copying "stuff" to my share but the files all land on (ide) sda1, not the (sata) sdb1 or sdc1.
Tried this command:
curl -s http://www.greyhole.net/support/system_info.sh | sh
the output is here: http://sprunge.us/eiTe
Can you see the problem? (or will the other hd's kick in when sda1 is full?)
ps: I can see the landing off file on sda via dash/storage (the other partitions are still 100% empty)
