Migrate from Fedora 14 to Ubuntu (including Greyhole)?

I'm running Amahi on Fedora 14 still. How can I upgrade to Amahi 6.2 on Ubuntu whilst keeping all of my current data, which is on a Greyhole storage pool?

The migration takes some manual work. I would disconnect all Greyhole drives and install Ubuntu followed by Amahi. Then once it is all up and running, reconnect the Greyhole drives and it should rebuild the shares automatically that exist. For those that do not, you need to create the shares manually. That is pretty much the steps I followed. I also did screen shots of all my static IP list and the share names to make rebuild easier.

We do not have a migration guide yet for this type of upgrade. It would be beneficial if you could help my adding some guidance to the wiki. I will try to add something when I have time. Keep in mind there is no guarantee that you won't lose data, but I can say mine went without a problem.

How will Greyhole know what to do when I reconnect the drives? Do I have to configure anything before reconnecting them?

Greyhole is designed to rebuild shares for you. The prerequisite is to ensure the shares exist first and the drives have been added to the storage pool. Check out the wiki for guidance.

Although this is listed for Fedora 14, the process is the same for Ubuntu.
