Well i set it to 777 and still didnt delete after procesing.

Still sitting in the completed folder with "root | root" permissions

We need to sort out the root permissions. Not sure why files are owned by root. What is the ownership of the newsgroups and other folders related to this app?

If they are incorrect, I can change that in the app. Seems that the shares should be owned by firstadminuser:users.

For my install, the newgroups folder default permissions is "www-data | users"

But i look at some of my defailt samaba shares that I delete in the amahi dashboard, such as "docs" and "books", and the folder was still there with "root | root" permissions

Interesting. When did you install Ubuntu? I know we recently made an update to correct permissions issues with shares. They should not be set to root:root. The last test install I performed showed them correctly as firstadminuser:users.

Those permissions issues with shares should have been corrected. Did you install on Ubuntu 12.04 or 12.04.1?

I am also wondering if these permission issues are related to my minidlna issue I am having. On my PS3 I am noticing some shows and folders are showing up twice, and if I remove a show, its does not disappear on my PS3.

Are you thinking I may have to re-install from scratch with certain version of Ubuntu? Also is there any preference between 32 and 64 bit

It should not, however I think you will be hard pressed to find a 12.04 download site. Not sure if that is related to the minidlna issue or not. I would hope a reinstall would not be needed. Should be able to sort it out, but may take some time.
