Sickbeard

Postby apastor » Wed Aug 29, 2012 8:14 pm

Hello Guys

I had some troubles with sickbeard, so I decided to re-install it, but now it will not install

It just says " Preparing to install ..."

I tried 2 twice, and left it for about 15 minutes and nothing.
I rebooted and tried to install it again and again it still says " Preparing to install ..." and does not go past there again.

Any ideas?

I will have to check the source. Last time I tested it (a few weeks ago), it was working.

I will check it out and report back.

Just tested with Ubuntu and works fine for me. Installed and it updates as well with no issues.

I do not know what problems you are having. Maybe check the app install log or the logs in the Sickbeard folder for clues. Happy to help if you can give me some details.

OK i am really frustrated here.

I just did a fresh install amahi, and tried to install sickbeard and now I am getting this

Application error
Rails application failed to start properly

Other apps installed OK but once again sickbeard fails.

I am starting to give up on amahi.

EDIT: LOL ok rebooted again, and now it worked. I am so confused, but its finally installed

When in doubt, reboot LOL. At what point did you get the error? Was it accessing the app after install?

I have seen where sometimes the browser cache causes issues over time. Often clearing it resolves the problem.

Neither, it was when I tried to install the app. I installed a few apps then I tried sickbeard and got that message where it says instaling / preparing.

I will have to check the download source. Maybe they updated it and move the current programmed file.

I will provide an update later today.

Just to add that I have just done a complete reinstall using Fedora14. Setup Sabnzbd fine but now trying to install Sickbeard all I am getting is the same as the OP. I have rebooted the server and tried to get this to install again but it simply sits at the same point saying "preparing to install".

Any ideas how to get this to install.

On a side note...where is the one click install for webmin....can't see it on the app list.

I will have to check it out again. Was working the last time I tried.

As for Webmin, it is a pay app so won't show until you pay the convenience fee.

BTW, this is the Ubuntu topic area. Recommend you post Fedora 14 app issues in the Apps topic area.
