Amahi or Ubuntu Random Downloads

Postby tcobb12 » Tue Jul 24, 2012 2:29 pm

For some reason my Amahi server will start downloading something... and start eating up my bandwidth... Really kinda bewilders me because I have updates turned off on Ubuntu and I didn't think Amahi needed to download updates every 30 mins.. I will download something for about 5 min on my 1 Meg connection which really lags me when i am playing xbox...

It may be the automatic Amahi update that runs....checks for new Amahi platform. It is usually not noticeable.

It is set in a cron job. You can change it if desired. We don't have any guidance at the moment, but I am sure you can find something on the internet on how to change it. Also, if you are an advanced user recommend you try using Webmin.

We don't recommend inexperienced Linux users try Webmin as it can get you into trouble if you do not know what you are doing.

Na thats ok, I know a good bit about linux but really don't want to mess up something that not broken. I am hopefully getting my faster internet back in a few days. They finally got the WIMAX tower fixed that was damaged by the storm last week. ATM I have been running my whole house off of a Verizon 3G Air card. :(
