I have had issues with transfer rates and the Powerline adapters. I don't think it's a client issue but more the adapters.

I have read many similar instances on the internet in the past about file transfer rates.

I'm betting this is the issue. Let us know the outcome.

Has anyone tried copying files from ubuntu amahi server to their PC

I noticed a big speed increase. In fedora I was getting transfer speeds 75MB-80MB/sec copying files from server to my PC.

Now I am getting 110MB/sec. All using the same hardware, just different OS. I am very pleased with this.
Same thing happened to me when I upgraded Fedora 14 to Fedora 16. The shares mounted locally on the server which were slow with Fedora 14 now also work at full speed.
