My Proxmox Install

So i wiped my gaming desktop and installed Proxmox, i didnt play much games anyways.
I installed Amahi but it is not "final" as i am still struggling with how i want to handle storage.
Amahi does run much faster in the VM, but then i gave it 4 cores and 8GB of RAM, so it better.
Overall, i think i am sold on Proxmox but still need to finalize my "design"
I am cursed in that i am a tinkerer. I never leave things well enough alone...:/

I am using Proxmix with Dual Core processor and 8GB RAM. So far giving VMs 1 core and 1GB RAM. I may up that once I see how it behaves.
So far, it runs pretty good. I am hoping to access VMs outside the network occasionally. Hoping I can learn more about how to use Proxmox. The container part is quite interesting, but still playing.

I actually have 2 proxmox servers now..
Intel i7 8Core 3.4 Ghz w/ 16GB RAM
and
AMD Phenom II Quad Core 840 Processor w/8GB
I wanted to play with clustering.

Cool. I am limited on hardware, but seems to run fine. Had 3 running at the same time and speed was not bad.

ah the curse of the tinkerer. I continue with my curse of the same, awaiting pay cheques to fund the next server upgrade
I'm curious how greyhole is behaving in your setups. how are you allotting storage to it? what filesystems?
I'll likely go the Proxmox route just because I don't wanna be limited to what hardware I can use.
I think I'm just gonna wait on Amahi for Fedora 16.

I'm a tinkerer as well. Its a blessing when you discover new and cool things. Ifs not fun when you bring everything down, or worst, loose data.
I was thinking going with proxmox too.
Actually, I entered in a contest with NCIX last fall (the canucks here would know who they are), and they left me a vmail today regarding the contest I enterd in. Basically it was Windows 2011 SBS with some cool hardware. I was excited about winning the hardware. In my mind, I won the contest, and building a cool promox box. But when I called back, it was a sales call/pitch. blah. They said they will announce the winner in a few days.
But anyways, I am interested in as well, just need 2 more drives, more ram and a raid card.

I am still struggling with the storage. I think i am leaning to mapping them for direct access to drives. I am also playing with openfiler. I think i might install the OS on an NFS share so i can back it up and play with moving it live between servers.......
basically i am still tinkering..:/

Proxmox is a nice environment. We should document these configurations and processes in the wiki once they are working. It would be beneficial to others.
