Hi, I have tried to use VLC and direct it to a subdirectory on the hda, but somehow failed. Is there a knowledgeable person that could give me the dummies version? I have tried the 'advanced open file' and finding the hda, but failed to do so. Appreciate any advise on set-up or alternatives you might have.
Alternatively how do I use the 'Connect to server' in Ubuntu 'Places' menu?
Thanks, Rene.
How do I set up VLC to read the shares on hda
Re: How do I set up VLC to read the shares on hda
I open my hda shares with the File browser (on windows), the Finder (on the mac) and Nautilus (in Gnome), then click on files that VLC opens automatically.
To connect to server, ...
- Service type -> Windows share
- Server: hda
- Share: Movies
- Folder (i left it blank)
- User name: your user name
- Domain Name: home (that one is the default)
Then press connect!
