Addding extra harddisk to existing partitions

Postby webmole » Mon Nov 02, 2009 7:18 am

Hi, is there any way to easily add an extra harddisk to the existing shares on my HDA?
The harddisk has already been detected and mounted.

Cheers

you can mount the existing drive in an existing (empty!) folder or create a new share in which you mount the drive.
For real ease of use you can use LVM, but you need to either think of it up front (too late ;)) or recreate your storage from scratch. LVM is very easy to expand and is transparent for the mount points you have on an LVM.

Perhaps this Adding a second hard drive link helps?
