CLOSED: All my shares are 4kb

Postby mikelemire » Wed Jan 02, 2019 10:30 am

hello.. and happy new year.. new year new Amahi install.. 2 disks partitioned as such

[admin@localhost ~]$ df -k
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
devtmpfs 3657744 0 3657744 0% /dev
tmpfs 3667816 0 3667816 0% /dev/shm
tmpfs 3667816 960 3666856 1% /run
tmpfs 3667816 0 3667816 0% /sys/fs/cgroup
/dev/sdb3 2882186480 2188264 2733521060 1% /
tmpfs 3667816 20 3667796 1% /tmp
/dev/sda1 383443480 69756 363826128 1% /home
/dev/sdb2 999320 83548 846960 9% /boot

tmpfs 733560 0 733560 0% /run/user/1000

If the shares are in /var/hda/files/ as indicated there would seem to be 2.68 TB available /dev/sdb3 ..

I tried deleting and recreating new shares.. same issue.

Thanks for assistance!

Not sure what you are asking here.

Please provide result of the following:

Code: Select all

df -h
Also need the URL for:

Code: Select all

apaste --sysinfo
Since it appears you have a large /home partition, that indicates you did not follow the install guidance precisely. That could be taking away space from the shares.

what I'm trying to do is create the samba shares utilizing the available space.
So the default shares reside in /var/hda/files which based on your drive configuration is on /dev/sdb3. Is that not the majority of your drive space?

The /home partition appears to be another drive and is separate from the shares.

Based on this setup, I don't see where you need to change anything. If creating new shares, they should default to the /var/hda/files path on /dev/sdb3.

Also keep in mind that the 2.6TB is part of the root partition, so the OS is included there as well. It's not just the shares.

Have you added any files to the shares? Am I missing something here?

thank you I am all set!

Now I understand "Get the size" in the Share settings is telling me space used not available - my mistake

Yes that is correct. Had you said this sooner, I could have told you it was space used. LOL

Oh well, now you know.
