Moving individual shares.

Postby technowaffle » Wed Dec 31, 2008 8:34 am

I have a amahi server running on an old PC with three 120gig hard drives. I would like to set it up so that anything saved in the public shares stays on the primary drive. At the same time I have two user shares that I would like to have save to their own hard drive. That way the data is segregated and easy to back up. Thanks for any help in advance.

look in /etc/samba/smb.conf to find where each share is pointed to and mount your disks accordingly in fstab. for example, for the default books share, i would set the mount point at \var\hda\files\books. make sure to move any existing files already in the share to the new disk.

or you can edit the share in the shares tab to point to the right place. simply click on the path and change it. press enter and presto, done!
