Adding an external hard drive

I am trying to add an external hard drive to my server. When I plug in the drive I can't access the folders on the drive. It is a 2 TB iomega prestige desktop hard drive. It is fairly old. I think iomega is no Lenovo or something. So is there anything I can do to access the folders and in the future mount the new hard drive?

When I try to access the folders I get a fatal error.

Did you use the disk-wizard App or follow the adding hard drives guidanc e in the wiki?

It takes more than just plugging in the drive to mount and use it in Linux. Once you have it mounted. You might consider creating a share and pointing the path to that drive.
