Hi friends,
my HDA is an old notebook with a usb3.0 2TB disk.
An android phone, an iphone and a notebook are clients for file sharing.
The thing is, i could not access share folders from WIN7 notebook then created a dummy account with 3 character long user name and 4 character long password: usr with pass
i could login !
i tried some other usernames but no success...
after some googling, i could solve win7 login problem with this regedit trick:

but android and ios file managers still can't login
what is wrong with samba config ? can you help me ?
sharing across multiple devices
Re: sharing across multiple devices
I really don't think it's a problem with Samba. It is likely something else.
If you can login to the dashboard with a user, it should be able to as well from another device. It could be a firewall issue possibly. I have not heard of anyone having this problem. You need to do more investigation is needed to find the root cause. Check log files on the hda in /var/log and on the clients as well.
I use Win 7 and 8 plus Android devices with no issues.
