No Write access to SubDirectories with spaces in name

Postby senthilr » Thu Oct 16, 2014 12:04 pm

After installing and uploading my files to /var/hda/files/pictures, any folders which has space in name will not be writable. I made sure the owner is <first-user>:users in all files. The files/folders have write permission. I am able to write to root pictures folder and any sub-folder with no space in name. Have any of you faced this situation. What is the solution for this.

Unlike Windows, Linux does not like spaces in folder or file names. The best solution is to rename all folders and replace the space with an underscore.

There are free utilities for Windows that will allow you to rename multiple folders.
