Ok, it has been a few weeks and I am getting used to my system. Thank Goodness!
Now I need to expand. I need more storage space.
Question - Which should I go. One way, add more usb external drives OR start adding network drives?
What are the guys running 20 tb systems doing? You must be running network drives or . . . ?
Thanks in advance.
Adding more storage capacity
Re: Adding more storage capacity
There are pros and cons for both.
I would say to add more drives via e-Sata if possible. That will give you the best throughput in my opinion. USB 3.0 might do well, but USB 2.0 drives tend to be slower.
I believe network drives would be limited by your network performance. Depends on your requirements. Is budget a consideration? How about power requirements?
Another option would be to buy bigger drives to use internal vs external. They are up to 4GB drives or even larger I believe.

Re: Adding more storage capacity
Thanks.
Hadn't really thought of a large internal drive. That would be best I guess as a first stop, if possible.
Budget within reason is not an issue. I have 3 or 4 external usb drives so I would like to consolidate to save space, power, noise, etc.
