Sharing the \home partition

I've installed Ubuntu and created the following partitions on a 500GB drive:
swap 4GB
\ 20 GB
\home 476 GB

Home do you set up the Amahi share to the \home partition? When I try to define a new share called \home\data and then map to it on Windows 7 it seems to always point to the \ partition because it shows the size as 20GB. Is this possible and if so, what am I doing wrong?

Have you tried pointing the share to the mount point for the \home directory?

Amahi's default shares location is /var/hda/files. Since you did not create a separate partition for this, the /var/hda/files is on the root partition. You could continue and try to use your home partition, however I would recommend following the suggested partition setup of 20GB root, 10GB home, 2xRAM Swap, and the balance as /var/hda/files.

I am new to Linux and Amahi so thanks for the information. I didn't know that I should define a seperate area for /var/hda/files. Thanks.

You do not have to define a separate area. It is included in / by default. Its a matter of personal preference.
