Can't access files from Mac...

Spent a long time setting up Amahi and personalising it bla bla bla...

I want to store my DVD collection on it, full 7-8gb ISO images. I tested it with one, and can copy the image from my XP machine to my HDA, but when I try opening the file on Mac OS X Snow Leopard, I get the following message:

Item "<filmname>.iso" is used by Mac OS X and can't be opened.

I did use Mac to put the file there, just to try and read it...but nothings happening! There are no other processes running on the Mac.

Anyone know anything about this?

Have you checked out the info in the wiki? There is a shares troubleshooter and some info on MAC specific items.

Thanks for your reply. However, I can connect to the server just fine, it's just when I select the file (which is around 8gb), it's greyed out as if like Mac says, it's being used or is busy.

I thought maybe the file was being moved from landing to the pool, but have left it overnight and still can't access it.

Very odd, and could potential put me off Amahi (which would be a great shame)...!

Nevermind...

Fixed the issue by removing all files from the share, deleting the share, and then re-adding the share and file and it worked fine.

Guess the file and/or share was corrupted or something.

But never the less, works fine now...thanks anyway!

Great....could have been an issue with Greyhole possibly.
