i have a client XP that cannot conntect to the shares, but the other client XPs can, here is the log file http://pastebin.com/d3f106aa3

- did you try with the full domain \\hda.home.com ? (i've had this happen whit a windows xp client home recently)
- is the client configured with corporate DNS settings? (some corporate IT guys are an@l about the DNS settings they put on their system, to override anything that DHCP may provide.
- can the client access the hda as a web page http://hda (or with the full domain?)

after working with it a little while, found out for some reason when the user was created it didnt created the smb username and password. i then deleted the user, then recreated it and it worked like a charm
