I have installed amahi on a atom based server pc I had going spare. I really like it but am having a few problems.....
1. My wife has a computer from work and uses it to log into her computer in the office via our dsl. I can't change any of her settings and she is part of my network at home....will she even realize that the hda is managing all the dhcp and dns duties.
2. I cannot see the hda in network explorer on my win 64 bit pc so I cannot access the shares. I can access the console but cannot access and map the shares. I can do this with my macbook. The pc is on the "workgroup" workgroup.
I also now cannot access the internet on my Win7 machine and it says there is an unidentified network that I cannot connect to
cannot see hda from win 7 pc

Re: cannot see hda from win 7 pc
Hi.
I installed amahi on Fedora 14 last weekend and everything worked OK the first two days. Then, suddenly I cannot access the shares. I am using Windows 7 on the client and I even could when the workgroup was not the same. Access to the dashboard is OK. My server seems to be ok. Don't know what is happening and don't find more info there. Anyone has had a similar problem? thanks.

Check the shares troubleshooter in the wiki.

There is also some Windows 7 guidance in the wiki if I remember correctly.

Thanks. I already looked at that link (i read the previous posts)
I am checking other things as I still haven't solved the problem. Weird. Everything seems to be ok in the server.
Not sure, but it could be a network problem.

Re: cannot see hda from win 7 pc
I stopped DHCP in the HDA since the installation as I am using the router as DHCP. I am using static IPs in the clients.
(http://www.amahi.org/faq#can-i-disable- ... -amahi-hda)
But for some reason, the HDA activates DHCP every time I restart it. I think this is part of the problem.
