New to amahi but not linux. I have my network running and can access it and everything. I am triple booting fedora 12 with XP and XP. Most of the shares I need are on one of the windows installs. I can access the stuff in the folders through fedora, but when I access them through Amahi via network access the folder is empty. It may be as simple as a path issue, but regardless, thought I would post for some help. The folder on the windows install I am trying to access is on hd0,0. The folder is on the windows desktop. The path to the folder through the Amahi share setup looks like this:
/hda0/documentsandsettings/(username)/desktop/zumba.
Does that look ok? Am I missing something?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Trouble accessing shares
Re: Trouble accessing shares
check the shares troubleshooting page. we would like it if you could improve on it, as it's fairly new.
is it mounted? (check df -h /path/to/your/folder)
is there a share pointing to it?
is the share accesible to the user trying to access it?
Access issues are caused by one or two things, one on top of each other: Linux access and if that works, Windows (SMB/Samba) access
So, to diagnose things, make sure you can access the files you are interested in from Linux. If that works, make sure then that the share pointing to your files is accesible to the user that is trying to access it via Samba
