SOLVED: Cant access shares localy

Hi im a totaly linux newbie :roll:

When i try to browse my \\HDA\Shares locally (Ubuntu) i get "Unable to mount location" What am i doing wrong? The shares works fine from another windowscomputer over the network.

You have to follow the guidance in the wiki.

It does not work the same as with Windows clients.

Thank you that did it :-)

First I mounted it under /home but then I got no write access to the folder only root :-( mounted it instead under /media which worked fine :-)

Is it ok to mount it under /media? or should I mount it under /mnt instead? If so why.

Media is the preferred location for removable media, such as external hard drives, etc. If it's an internal drive, I would suggest you mount it under /mnt.
