NFS support

Postby NoClaim » Sun Jul 17, 2011 4:22 am

I have installed Fedora14 with Amahi as a replacement for WHS2011 (because of the missing DE option).
Amahi will be used as media server/NAS to stream media to my PCH and my BluRay player with media player capabilities.
To stream I used NFS (as a services in WHS), but I can't find NFS in Amahi.

Is NFS supported and how can I setup NFS?

Thnx for helping out

Amahi has NFS easily accessible under the covers, however there is no UI to configure it in Amahi itself. You have to configure it directly (via the command line or other utilities - like *gasp* webmin, which incidentally is an app, though admittedly for experts).

I'm kinda newbie to Linux and Amahi.
Is there a guide of how to configure Amahi for NFS? Especially when you mention configure without UI I believe I need help (sorry, but I'm a Windows user, so not used to configure through command line :? )

Thanks

Here ya go...some wiki guidance:

http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/NFS

Best way to find answers is check the wiki. If there is nothing there, try google. The community does good helping out here as well.

Is there any plans to make NFS pretty and easy to use in amahi like the current samba setup?

My plan is to abandon Microsoft alltogether.
