Heya,
Bit of a specific issue I've been having on the 2 'client' machines here. Since migrating my media collection onto my HDA, iTunes has mysteriously lost the ability to update meta info on the files stored on the HDA shares (its looking at the right place as I've uninstalled itunes, nuked the library, and re-installed); and have confirmed that copying the files from the share fixes the problem.
I'm thinking its a permissions issue on the file(s) within the share that are causing the problem, but am hesitant to mess with it as there are no off system backups currently and its a large collection.
User permissions from the HDA webinterface (admin flag) don't seem to have an affect as myself am set as admin where as my GF's acct is not, and the issue is affecting both our machines (ensuring that I was logging on as different user on the two machines).
The files on the share show as lrw-r--rw- for permissions, and am hesitant to change them as I have greyhole enabled (and am unsure exactly what is safe to modify and what isn't due to the nature of it)... so as my logic suggest GROUP members can only read they can't write to the link file which is what itunes is getting hung up about. Also of note, the files within the greyhole /gh/... folder do show as -rwxrwxrwx so the ACTUAL files are writable.
Some help?
Windows app (iTunes) unable to write to shared file
